Burning Pools, led by former Smashing Pumpkins bassist Ginger Pooley, has been long in the making. With husband Kris Pooley, they wrote songs showcasing Ginger’s penchant for empowering protest lyrics clothed in pop hooks, when they reached out to guitarist Max Bernstein. He promptly added his sub-octave fuzz, while Kris (a keyboard player by trade) dusted off his drum kit, and a band was born.
